Best Dental Plan

Do you own your own business, or freelance?  Are you working part-time and, therefore, not eligible for benefits?  Health insurance is extremely important as healthcare costs are going through the roof.  One of the ways to get health insurance is to join a trade association or some kind of formal group that provides health insurance for it's members.  The American Automobile Association  (AAA) offers short term medical insurance for between 30 – 185 days which is cheaper than COBRA.  This is a good way to keep yourself insured without breaking the bank (crucial at a time when saving every penny counts).  They also offer permanent insurance for college students (up to age 63).  This is great for students who can't go on their parent's plan as dependents, or are international students, and can be a cheaper alternative to the college health insurance plans.   eHealth Insurance offers quotes for comparison for people seeking insurance for themselves and their families.  It allows you the flexibility to determine your deductible, compare coinsurance rates and see what your monthly payments will be.  Healthinsurance.org offers you the same options as well as links to websites that offer risk pools (insurance for people who cannot get insurance because of their medical/pre-existing conditions, or a change in their circumstances that makes them ineligible for benefits).

Freelancers can join the National Association of the Self-Employed (NASE) and join their Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) that allows you to write off 100% of your medical expenses, including the cost of the health insurance premium.  Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are another way to go.  You would have to pay a deductible but you get pre-tax savings.  BibleHealthcare.com and  Samaritan Ministries, offer a medical sharing program that covers bills by having a group of people pool money to help each other pay for medical costs.  People make a monthly contribution and can choose from several plans. You will want to check if this option is available in your state.  You will also want to compare the benefits you get to the regular insurance rates and see if this is an option that will work for you.

Your chamber of commerce, trade association, or parenting club or organization are always good places to start in your quest for affordable insurance.   Stay healthy and prosper.

Discounted Dental Plans

Genetic disorders lead to a variety of health complications in children. While facial deformities are most common, they only represent a fraction of the health complications a child may experience. In children who live with the genetic disorder known as Robinow syndrome, there are quite extensive complications involving oral health.

If your child has been diagnosed with the genetic disorder known as Robinow syndrome, it is important to ask about the complications to be expected in terms of oral health and dental hygiene complications. With a tailored dental plan, children with Robinow syndrome can live relatively normal lives in terms of speech and feeding, provided teeth and oral health are well managed.

In terms of facial development, there are many complications that will be readily apparent including a downward sloping face, misalignment of teeth, and even the development of cleft lip, cleft palate and even shortened tongue. With these complications, your child's oral health can become compromised and impact the integrity of your child's teeth and gum development. Seeking dental services from an oral health provider, early in childhood, will become important to your child's long term health.

Pediatric dental health can also be compromised by the relative short root development within the teeth. When root development is compromised, your child may develop complications involving loss of tooth eruption and then, subsequently, complications involving early loss of teeth. Without proper tooth development, your child will experience pain but also suffer some residual effects associated with feeding and speech.

For teeth at-risk for dental caries, the dentist will most often recommend the use of fluoride treatments to promote the integrity of the teeth compromised by Robinow syndrome. Because speech impairment may also be a concern, the process of frenotomy may also be necessary.

If your child has been diagnosed with the complication known as Robinow syndrome, it is important to understand how that complication may adversely affect your child's health, especially that involving oral health or integrity of teeth. With proper fluoride treatment, management of misalignment of teeth, correction of cleft lip or cleft palate, your child's risks associated with Robinow syndrome can be well managed from an oral perspective.

Dental complications affect millions of children. While many cases of pediatric dentistry are associated with poor hygiene and poor diet, there are some children that are adversely affected by a genetic disorder. In the case of Robinow syndrome, the complications associated with tooth integrity can lead to long term secondary health complications and must be addressed early in life.

Group Dental Plans

If you are like so many others who suffer from ongoing or multiple health related issues, then you know how frustrating it can be when you are just trying to deal with every day life. There are so many different medical conditions and disorders that it is hard to imagine how many people are secretly suffering. These days, it seems that almost everyone has something wrong with them.

As a mom of two children on the Autism spectrum, I found myself searching for support as soon as my oldest child was diagnosed. I went to the only local support group in the area at that time and left discouraged, rather than encouraged. Finally, a year later, I have found what I believe to be the best online support group for Autism. But wait! There's MORE! This site is about more than just Autism support, it is support for countless other conditions, disorders and diseases. Topics range from Breast Cancer to Prostate Cancer, pregnancy to ADHD, Lupus to Pulmonary Hypertension, headaches to bipolar disorder, lyme disease to panic attacks and even fibromyalgia. This website is www.mdjunction.com.

The forums offer the ability to have open dialogue between you and the other members. In these forums, members can read or respond to a topic that was started by another member (or you can start your own). Members have written in about their thoughts, experiences, treatments, recoveries, personal stories and more. Some even include links to other fantastic websites that cover the topic you might be interested in.

One especially unique feature to this site is the ribbon. When you apply for your instantaneous, free registration, you can choose a ribbon to wear in honor of a medical condition that you or a loved one may be struggling with. This adds an extra personal touch so that other members who come across your profile get a glimpse of something that is important to you.

If you come seeking information only, you might find it most interesting to read their health articles. They cover a wide variety of illnesses and are written from different perspectives. Some of the information is very basic, while some is much more advanced.

As with most support groups, you can create your own profile to share a little bit about yourself and your story if you choose. You can also keep a diary if you want. This allows other members to read it and offer support to you. From your profile, you can email and receive email. This is such a great benefit because lets face it, everyone has a story. We all need a hand once in a while. Since it's free, what do you have to lose?

This website has allowed me to help so many individuals benefit from my own experience with healing autism. It has also taught me about some things I did not know before. It has been quite an experience to read other people's stories and the health articles have been helpful to me numerous times. The community itself is very friendly and supportive. I would encourage anyone who is in need of support for whatever their illness to see if MDJunction can help you.
