Every Makita Lithium-Ion tool is backed by Makita’s 3-Year Warranty that covers repair due to defects in materials or workmanship up to three years from the date of original purchase. (The owner’s manual included in the box incorrectly states that the tool has a 1-year warranty.  Since the printing of the manual the warranty on the tool has been expanded to 3 years. I have this drill since 2007 and have liked its performance so well, I purchased a second one in 2009 just to have on hand. I have several drills available and consistently go to this one for the work I do. I have read the reviews about the batteries and the wobble of the chuck and I have not had this problem on either of the 18 volt Makita drills I own.

I completed a major remodel of my home in 2007 and this was probably the most used tool. I like the quick recharge of the batteries. I purchased a 3.0 amp hour battery to go along with the two 1.5 batteries that come with the drill and three years later they are still going as strong as ever. I own a PC 14 volt drill that has become my loaner drill when somebody needs borrow a drill. I don’t want to be without my Makita. I used to own a 12 volt Makita and this one runs circles around it. I can’t say enough good things about it.
